Fans of Samsung’s Galaxy S series in India have strongly opined that getting the Exynos variants of the phones put them at a disadvantage. It appears, however, that there’ll be no cause for such complaints next year, as a new leak indicates that the Indian models of the Galaxy S22 series will be equipped with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

Samsung is slated to launch the Galaxy S22 series in February, keeping with the traditional release period for phones in the series. Specs and details of the phones have mostly been revealed, but the latest leak provides some more information that will thrill fans of the lineup in India.

According to tipster Front Tron, Samsung is set to bring the Galaxy S22 series to the Indian market with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Samsung has typically sold its flagship phones in India with its in-house Exynos chipsets. That that looks geared to change with the Galaxy S22 series, though, as the phones look likely to ditch the upcoming Exynos 2200 in favor of Qualcomm’s offering.
